Cake Pop Challenge!

Cake pops have become my creative outlet.  I love the challenge of trying to transform something into a cake pop. So when a group of ten Auburn University college friends who graduated in 1988 were getting together, I took the opportunity to do something out of the ordinary.  I asked for some items that had an inside story which only they would understand.  The list included:
  • thumbs up
  • brain
  • C-Span
  • pelican
  • drinking cup
  • Vail
  • Phi Delta Theta
  • Charlie Sheen

How'd I do???  They got a kick out of it.

More on Charlie Sheen who they met and ended up hanging out with while together in Vail on their senior year trip....

In the middle of preparing for a large charitable event, I had one shot to get this one right.  Here's the Charlie Sheen cake pop pictured with my drawing plan.  It came close to my plan but the eyes ended up more bulging than I had intended.

So I kept looking at it, thinking it looks like an actor in a Gene Wilder movie.  After a little searching, I found him. He was in Young Frankenstein.

That's it!!!  But the guys didn't care, it was close enough to Charlie for them.

    Aubie Revisited

Auburn University has a beloved and award winning mascot named Aubie who is an integral part of the Auburn Family.  No Auburn function is complete unless Aubie is involved.

Well, some of my favorite Auburn guys were getting together for a weekend and my cake pops were requested.  My attempt to transform Aubie into a cake truffle was successful.  But to make Aubie into a cake pop??? I thought it was an impossibility. Too much detail to get on such a small piece of cake.  But I couldn't let them down!

    (Drum roll, please!)

    .....

VOILA!!!!  Aubie cake pop!  I just love him!

And just in case you are not familiar with Aubie, watch this.  I promise he'll make you smile!

    An Irish Blessing

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun

And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
    Today, tomorrow and beyond.

    Happenings

First, thank you to all those who purchased cake pops at the Springdazzle Market!  I am so grateful to report ALL our pops were purchased to benefit Gabe!  That's incredible!  I'm so honored we worked together to bless this precious family.  I hope to work with them again.

My daughter and I enjoyed meeting and talking with you face to face.  I appreciate your encouragement and suggestions.  Many of you expressed an interest in including the Easter cake pops in your celebrations.  Good news!  I'm am considering a date for a demonstration on  making bunnies, chicks and egg cake pops  Wouldn't that be fun?!  Especially fun if you take home your own assorted Easter cake pops.  If you are interested in this demonstration or want to be contacted about future demonstrations, please email bittybitescakes@aol.com .  Look for details posted here in the next few days!
